Welcome
Hello, my name is Phyllis Wood, and I am based in Lennoxtown (G66), which is central to the Stirlingshire/Falkirk area, aswell as working from my consulting room in Glasgow city centre(G3). Both practices are on a convenient bus/train route.
I am a BACP accredited, Person-Centered/Integrative Counsellor holding a postgraduate diploma in counselling from Strathclyde University. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedures therein. I have regular supervision of my work in line with BACP guidelines and attend regular on-going training.
I also hold the Cosca (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) Certificate in Counselling from the same University.
I offer confidential, person-centred counselling in a safe environment, providing a space for clients to talk and explore their feelings and concerns. These may include:
- Relationship problems
- Anger
- Anxiety
- Depression and illness
- Loss or bereavement
- Stress
- Self-esteem
- Desire to improve quality of life
- Panic or trauma
- Difficulties at work
- Loneliness
- Life changes.
Counselling can sometimes be for those who are seeking a greater understanding about themselves.
I welcome clients who come for any reason. I chose to become a person-centred counsellor because I have a strong belief in human potential and the ability to grow and change in positive ways given the necessary core conditions of:
- Acceptance
- Congruence
- Empathy
